Jupiter and Mars & The Wizard of Oz

For anyone who ever travelled the yellow brick road and skipped along with Dorothy and Toto to find Oz, you’ll recall clicking your red heels together 3 times…
Steeped in symbology and a good touch of the heroine’s journey to boot, all is revealed rather unremarkably when Dorothy finally draws back the curtain when she reaches Oz to find that it was all just a dream.

So what is it about yellow bricks and returning to Oz anyway?
Let’s take a peek at the JUPITER Yantra and its accompanying Sanskrit mantra. Jupiter is the guru planet in Vedic science & western cosmology. “Gu" means 'darkness of ignorance' and "Ru" means 'the divine light of knowledge'. A guru/teacher helps us overcome obstacles and guides us on our path to realization. Oh and if you’re not familiar yet - the accompanying yantra see it here.
One can’t help but be dazzled by the beautiful golden hues of the geometric form. Expanding its light into the space around, ever so generous with its unctuous ghee-like colour sustaining all. ( And perfect for making little ghee lanterns to light the way)
Like all good gurus, JUPITER switches on the inner guru and intuition of the life student via the path of action ( karma).
In Dorothy’s dream of finding hOMe she tapped into the archetypal energy of JUPITER to guide her back to Oz, bricks and all :)
Mars & the great DESIRE.
No good trip is made without the desire (or will ) for one. “Thy will be done”
Mars, the passionate warrior & martial artist does indeed wear red glittery shoes on her journey.
The Mars yantra all lovely with pinks, reds & copper lovingly points exactly where Dorothy is headed with absolute focus in the large upward pointing triangle.
No matter the obstacles along the yellow brick road, a gentle reminder to tap those red shoes together and harness the focus of passionate and fiery Mars to reach the end goal of returning to ‘THE LIGHT” that is always within.
